This is the page of: Ms. S. Newman Title: Math and Science in Our World Welcome Parents and Students, It is another fabulous year at FSK with the Panthers' team. This year is very exciting. In math, students are preparing for the MSA in all areas. Parents, please allow your child to log unto www.studyisland.com this year in order to practice a variety of skills. Also studnets will be working in stations in order to practice working in groups. Also, parents, here is a quick tip for study skills; Make sure studnets are practicing division and multiplication skills everyday. In science, 8th graders will be working on a brand-new curriculum. It is a catalyst for students to be more hands-on in the classroom. Parents, students will and have been going on many trips this year. We believe that learning should be in more than just the classroom. On another note parents, studnets should be bringing home point sheets everyday and be signed by you. Later, there will be a calender sent home for you and students to see how point sheets are tied into academics. We will be having "Bonus Fridays" in order to increase student achievement. Lastly parents, the Panthers' team is in need of Parent Volunteers to help with daily administrative tasks. If you are interested please inform Mrs. Patrick or myself by the point sheets. We look forward to working together and having a great Year!!
